    POLISAS is the second polytechnic founded in Malaysia after its predecessor Politeknik Ungku Omar (Ungku Omar Polytechnic) which was founded in Ipoh. Perak Darul Ridzuan in 1969. During its early years, POLISAS only offers three courses; Certificate in Civil Engineering (Construction), Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Power) and Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (General).
